Stats Office: Employment Increased in Several Sectors in September

Bratislava, November 9 (TASR) - Employment in Slovakia rose year-on-year in several sectors in September, most significantly in accommodation - by 10.9 percent, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Friday. Annual increases were also recorded in the following sectors in September: in restaurants and pubs - by 7.2 percent, in selected market services - 6.4 percent, in information and communications activities - 6.3 percent, in transport and warehousing - 5.5 percent, in the sale and repair of motor vehicles - 5.1 percent, in retail - 3.9 percent, in construction - 2.8 percent, and in industry - 1.9 percent. It went down only in wholesale - by 0.5 percent. Meanwhile, average employment rates for the first nine months of 2018 increased y-o-y in the following categories: in information and communications activities - 7.3 percent, in transport and warehousing - 6.9 percent, in restaurants and pubs - 6.8 percent, in the sale and repair of motor vehicles - 6.6 percent, in selected market services - 6 percent, in accommodation - 5.8 percent, in retail - 3.6 percent, in industry - 3 percent, and in construction - 2.6 percent.
