Bratislava, November 9 (TASR) - A total of 124 persons claimed asylum in Slovakia in the first eight months of 2018, while two persons have been granted asylum so far and another ten have been given 'subsidiary protection', director of the Interior Ministry's Migration Office's Migration and Integration Department Petra Achbergerova has reported. Around 30-35 migrants in total are currently at three camps in Slovakia at the moment, with the authorities examining their asylum requests. The Slovak Interior Ministry last year registered 166 asylum applications, while it granted asylum to 29 people and subsidiary protection to another 25 persons, with 54 individuals receiving international protection. According to Achbergerova, people with international protection are allowed to work and study freely in Slovakia, having all rights as Slovak citizens, except for the right to vote in elections. bub
