Bratislava, November 9 (TASR) - The Saint Martin's Old Town Kermesse is due to be launched on Rudnay Square in the centre of Bratislava on Friday afternoon, due to feature a colourful programme until Sunday - including the centuries-old tradition of blessing of young wine on Saint Martin's Day, the roasting of a bull, creative workshops and a lantern parade, TASR learnt on Friday. A folk music concert will kick off the festival on Friday at 3 p.m., preceding a ceremonial Mass and the blessing of new wine by Bratislava Metropolitan Archbishop Stanislav Zvolensky at the Saint Martin's Cathedral at 5 p.m. The ceremony will be followed by an event presenting the cathedral's history as the venue for coronations of Hungarian kings. Creative workshops for children and theatre performances are set for Saturday, with a lantern parade on Rudnay Square, Panska Street, Hviezdoslav Square, and Sedlarska and Venturska Streets scheduled after the twilight. bub
