Stats Office: Revenues in Industry Up 0.6 Percent M-o-M in June

Bratislava, August 10 (TASR) - Revenues for own activities and goods in June 2018 increased on a month-on-month basis in the construction sector - by 5.3 percent, in selected market services - 4.4 percent and in industry - 0.6 percent, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Friday.
Conversely, m-o-m decreases in revenues in June were recorded in the following sectors: in transport and warehousing - by 1.1 percent and in information and communications activities - 1 percent.
Revenues in industry in June 2018 compared to June 2017 increased by 8.3 percent. This was largely due to increases in revenues in the industrial production - by 8.8 percent, in mining and quarrying - by 6.5 percent, in supplies of electricity, gas, steam and cold air - by 4.4 percent and in water supplies, sewage water disposal and waste disposal - by 4.1 percent. After a y-o-y decline in the previous month, revenues in construction went up again by 6.6 percent.
Total revenues in industry over the first six months of 2018, meanwhile, increased by 2.7 percent y-o-y due to growth in industrial production - by 3.7 percent, in water supplies, sewage water disposal and waste disposal - by 2.5 percent, in mining and quarrying - by 0.9 percent. Conversely, revenues in supplies of electricity, gas, steam and cold air contracted by 3.7 percent. Revenues of construction entities increased by 7.9 percent.
