Bratislava, September 9 (TASR) - Prime Minister Iveta Radicova confirmed on Thursday that she will take part in the referendum initiated by the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party that is due to take place on September 18.
Radicova told TASR that she respects the opinion of the 400,000 people who signed the petition for the referendum and that she appreciates their attitude. "It's true that the situation has changed since the general election and that various referendum questions have become part of the Government programme; but at the same time, it's also true that the process has been taking place and that it isn't possible to interfere with it by casting doubt on our people's right to petition," she said.
The prime minister noted that people will also have a chance to have a say on issues that aren't part of the Government Manifesto.
