Bratislava, September 2 (TASR) - The official day of state mourning for the victims of the gun massacre that took place in the Bratislava borough of Devinska Nova Ves on Monday ended at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
The day of mourning, lasting from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m, with state flags flying at half-mast, was declared by the Government at an extraordinary session on Tuesday.
Lubomir Harman, 48, killed seven people before turning the gun on himself. Another 15 people were injured.
Sympathy for the families of the victims has been conveyed by all three of Slovakia's top officials - President Ivan Gasparovic, Prime Minister Iveta Radicova and Parliamentary Chairman Richard Sulik.
This was the sixth time that a state of mourning has been declared in Slovakia. The last such occasion was on April 18 when the country commemorated the victims of the Polish plane crash on April 10 that killed Polish President Lech Kaczynski, his spouse Maria and another 94 senior representatives of the Polish Government, armed forces and clergy.
